Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
Lily Dancing for us today! Her third school visit of the day.
Tuesday, March 19th, our class will be reading for Mass. It is the Feast Day of Saint Joseph! Come join us if you can!
Report cards went home on Friday, March 15. Please sign and return the envelope. The report card is yours to keep.
Reminder: This week is 11:30 dismissal on Thursday. Conferences take place from 1:00-7:00 pm. There is no school on Friday. There is school on Monday, March 25. This is a snow make-up day.
Reading Log’s due Monday!
Book Report: . Monday will be our last work day for the book report. If there is anything remaining for the final draft it will be taken home to complete. It is due Wednesday.
After our work day Monday, students will continue reading I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic, 1912. They will work on vocabulary and comprehension throughout. Once completed we will move on to some writing pieces and a study of the discovery of the Titanic and Robert Ballard. A great reading, writing, science and social studies tie throughout!
Speaking of the green, we had a first breakthrough yesterday, a seed sprouting. The real question is d do we really need sunlight for things to grow? This answer along with many others will come out in the following weeks. We will also start to look at what role states play in plants as the students get their Social Studies state.
The 4th grade State Fair is going to be fabulous! Each student now knows their individual state. We will be talking State Fair specifics in class. Be on the lookout for State Fair information coming home this week.
We are finished traveling around the United States learning about the five regions. We will do a five region state sort this week and then it’s back to learning about our great state of Wisconsin!
This week we will continue to explore fractions by changing Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers and vice versa. There will be a quiz on Wednesday. Next up is adding and subtracting with Mixed Numbers.
Grammar: Unit 3 Verb Review. Test March 26
Vocabulary: Chapter 12 test Thursday. If kids are leaving early I would like them to take it on Wednesday.

Writing: Prayers for Lent and writing book report
Our virtue this month is RESPECT. We will practice this virtue together and with our 4th grade buddies.
Venture Magazine-Lenten Journey in conjunction with our writing journals.
Every week we are gathering with the intermediate kids to pray a decade of the rosary in church. One of our commitments to pray more during this holy time.
We will be attending adoration every Thursday throughout Lent.
Lent Study: video of Jesus’ Crucifixion and Resurrection. I will be reading the Bible during this time as well. Students are practicing and discussing how we fast, pray and give alms
