Please join us for Stations of the Cross at 11:00 on Thursday. The students will be dismissed at 11:30. There is no school on Friday.

The next Blog will be published on Saturday May 4.


Plot Diagrams for The Cay are due Tuesday.

Reading Logs due Monday. We will have a few weeks off from the reading Log over break.

This week Monday through Wednesday when I am with my readers we are working on reading skills: Prefixes, suffixes, using context, inference, and using context. We are reading a Journey’s story titled LAFFF, a science fiction story, along with an informational text From Dreams to Reality. Students will work on vocabulary and are assessed on this and comprehension of the story. We they return from break we will continue working on skills and begin Literature groups. Students will choose their own novel and work in small groups with their choice novel.


We have been working on testing force and converting our measurements into miles per hr. and then into Newtons. At the same time, we have been looking at what will impact the force of those objects.

Social Studies

This week we will begin looking at the Atlantic Slave Trade. Students will be reading some texts and analyzing some pictures of artifacts from that period to infer how the slaves were treated as well as how they felt. No Daily Geography this week!


This week we will begin to evaluate Integers. We will begin by defining an Integer. Then, we will evaluate their value as we move segments on a number line.

In addition, the students have been working on a project that has them reviewing 12 concepts from this year. They are displaying the concepts on a 12 sided three dimensional shape called a Dodecagon. We will finish this project before break.

Language Arts/Writing

Grammar: .No Grammar this week..

Vocabulary: No Vocabulary this week.

Writing: We continue to work on the Compare and Contrast essays. The essays will be due on Tuesday. We will have time to work on final touches on Monday. The students will add pictures and create a final presentation on Wednesday.


On Thursday at 11:00 we will be gathering as a school community to say the Rosary. Students will be dismissed from church.

We will finish up our Lenten booklets by talking about Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Students will also finish up their Lenten writing reflections.
