 Garden Help Needed!

We are looking for help from families over the summer to manage our school community garden, which is located to the west of the Rectory.  Please consider signing up for a week over summer break to help water and weed.  At the end of the summer we will harvest the vegetables and donate them to a local hunger initiative.  Please visit the link below to get your family involved.  It’s a fun and easy opportunity for all ages!

Battle of the Books

All incoming 4th, 5th and 6th graders are eligible to participate in Battle of the Books (BoB). BoB is an extracurricular reading program designed to introduce your children to new authors, and to encourage a love of reading, all in a spirit of friendly competition.

The 2019-2020 BoB list of books is attached.

Children are allowed to form their teams of three before summer break starts to encourage summer reading and make the amount of reading during the school year more manageable especially for the younger participants.  Please have your children tell Mrs. Kuhnmuench once they have formed their teams.

More information will be coming home with your children this week.  If you have any questions, please contact your BoB coordinators:

Mary Kuhnmuench, mkuhnmuench@stmonica.school

Maggie Brown, maggiebbrown@yahoo.com

Guess the SMS Graduate!

Stop by the table across from Mrs. McIntyre's office and see how they've grown!

Jesus said,

“Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them;

for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Volunteers Needed

Please sign up to help our teachers pack up their classrooms. We have a big job ahead of us as we close out this year: we're cleaning out classrooms as well as our school attic.

Please consider donating an hour or two of your time to help our teachers. We are striving to make St. Monica School as good as it can be for our students and appreciate your support. Thank you!

I am sad to announce that Kellie Van Rixel will be taking at job closer to her home at St. John Vianney. Kellie has been a very positive and valuable member of the St. Monica staff, and she will be greatly missed. However, we are excited that she will be able to work closer to home and be at the same school with two of her children next year. We wish her well.
