I earned my M.S. in literacy education  from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and continued my education earning additional certifications. These included my clear multiple subject and instructional specialist credential in California, my professional license in Connecticut, and adding to my math middle school certification.  My  K-12 experience across diverse, high achieving settings includes roles as academic and literacy intervention specialist, reading specialist, coach, ELA teacher, high-stakes student assessment teacher, and Orton Gillingham certified teacher.   I was awarded math and science fellowships while teaching in California and in Connecticut for increasing scientific literacy.  Recently, I added to my science-based literacy education by participating in the Act 20 literacy professional development for reading specialists and the UW-Madison Summer Literacy Institute.

I am grateful to be working with a group of  colleagues in a collaborative culture that fosters student achievement, faith and character formation, and builds community relationships with SMS families.
